we march on

there was a terrible quake. we fell from the tree. and when it was over there was a silence. a silence no child could bear. i pressed my head to the television set, turned the volume up, but it was never enough. you could hear it on the street but i could never break the still that had fallen over my home, the silent din that deafened me.

shavergrrl.blogspot.com

eva's got her own blog now for her sometimes sweet sometimes raunchy comic SHAVERGRRL! be careful. there are four letter words and feminist notions lurking around every corner and behind each big eye. don't say we didn't warn you.

andrew's got a sick sense of humor

eva's also our cartoonist

a history of our journals

Jess's old (really really old) journal. [this should explain a lot]

before we go any further

before we drive you away with obscure posts referencing this and that with little to no context...we'd like to "officiously" introduce ourselves. we're inducting a new member to the imaginary collective as well. so we best get on with it. here we go.

jess: andrew, would you like to go first?
andrew: ha! ahahahaa....yes. no. you first.
jess: word. hi. i'm jess. i'm 27, a visual artist, a libra, and i stole my mom's vision when i was born. i like baseball, apple pie, banjo pickers, mutt dogs, and steinbeck. i am the brains and paint behind this operation. i was 23 when i met andrew delavici. that's how this all got started. 2+3=5. 5=chaos. take it away mr. delavici.
andrew: but of course. bongiorno y'all. i am, in fact, italian. my father was, in fact, a mobster. my mother...well. nevermind about her for now. you want to hear about me. i like wine, oysters, and good women. a good woman. one. (she is beautiful). i am a lion. i will devour you. i will stitch you back together. i will save the world. i will ruin everything. i will not slow down. i will not -
eva: stop. may i go now?
andrew: she is beautiful.
eva: oh, andrew....
jess: Ahem.
eva: right. i am the documentarian. i take the pictures and make the movies. let's let rosa go now, huh?
andrew: rosa is my little sister. she is being "inducted."
jess: rosa has expressed an interest in being heard. i think she can do it here with confidence.
rosa: i've got some things to say, things the world needs to hear.
andrew: she's 17.
rosa: not that it matters! jesus.
jess: rosa is our revolutionary.
rosa: we've got some problems here people. somethin' serious for real. saying we live in "troubled" and "uncertain" time is an understatement bordering on insult. i'm here to help. to wave the flag of the people. to fight the good fight, cause god knows we need someone who will. someone who will be a warrior-
andrew: she saw Avatar last night.
rosa: i'm serious!
jess: she is. and she's usually right. at least, i agree with her most of the time. and so does andrew though he'd rat
her bust balls than agree right now apparently. so that's that. it's a pleasure to meet you. are we still holding hands? do we still have your attention? it gets better from here. we have adventures before us. let's go.

she spoke through the skin of oranges

her teeth became the fruit of a small burnt sapling

it's how we look from an angle

how we remember those who've parted

how we become a family of chairs

and the details one recalls with fingertips

the house you grew up in

the house of memories
the wood- the walls -
these things that do not last, a leaf, a life, a day in march that is always out of reach...

you could find it, though. you could go there. report back. tell us when it was. so we could know. so we could mark it in our calendars.

yes.

it's march now

and we've decided to work with a few themes we associate with march.
like death.
betrayal.
you know, the old "ides" thing.
and drinking. drinking copious amounts of alcohol.
also, we'll be exploring those bleak and green places associated with drinking copious amounts of alcohol.
we will not, however, be talking about leprechauns.
but maybe four leaf clovers.
yes, definitely four leaf clovers.
it's going to get a little dark in here, dear friend.
but don't worry.
we are still holding hands, and i'm pretty sure i know the way out.
it cannot snow forever.

genius

jess: they said I am the genius.

andrew: well i don't see how-

eva- andrew, that's not very nice.

another scenario

j: they said i'm the genius.

e: well, i mean...that's lovely and all...but andrew here...

a: eva, that's not...well.

j: it doesn't matter.

both: what do you mean?

another scenario

a: they said i'm the genius.
